Description
Starting out life as 1498cc in the form of Consul, Capri and Cortina – Harry Mundy was commisioned to design a double overhead camshaft version. The specification was changed with a 0.060inch increase in bore to 1558cc which would enable a 0.040inch overbore to keep below the 1600cc FIA class limit.
CBR have rebuilt many of these beautiful engines up to 1598cc regularly running the Elan S1 for customers in the Historic Sports Car Club Guards Trophy.
